James Edwin Lyons, a longtime resident of Berwick, was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the age of 61.
James, who is also known by the nickname “Bean”, was a proud and friendly resident of 4th Street in Berwick, where he built the greatest of friendships with his neighbors. He was known for always waving at those who passed his home and brightening their day. An excellent mechanic, James also enjoyed building model cars in his spare time though most of all he adored the time he spent with his wonderful grandchildren who called him “Pawpaw”.
James is survived by his five children, Christina Lyons, Anthony Lyons, Stephanie Lyons, Jessica Lyons, and Samantha Lyons; his nine grandchildren whom he adored, Treyvian, Julyin, Shawn Jr., Sophia, Madyx, Cassidee, Jackson, Zy, and Kenadi; and his former wife, Janice Buquet.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Etienne and Hazel Lyons and his sister, Mary Pierron.
The family requests that a time of visitation and remembrance be observed on Wednesday January 13, 2021 from 4pm until time of dismissal at 7pm at Hargrave Funeral Home. In keeping with James’ wishes, cremation will follow the visitation and he will be laid to rest alongside his parents and sister.
Due to the restrictions regarding limited gatherings, Hargrave Funeral Home can accommodate 100 guests in its facilities and those guests are asked to wear masks and follow social distancing protocols upon entry of the funeral home.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Heart of Hospice for their care of their dad.
