On October 12, 2023, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Investigation detectives responded to a home in the 6000 block of Coteau Road in reference to a deceased male located in the backyard of the residence. Through investigation, IPSO detectives learned that James Nic Derouen (male, 53 yrs. old) shot his brother during an argument.
James Nic Derouen was arrested on the following charges: LA RS 14:30.1 Second Degree Murder James Nic Derouen was booked into the Iberia Parish Jail. Bond was set at $502,000.00.
