Funeral services for Fred Allan Parchmont will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson during a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial. Following he will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife in St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum. Father Herb Bennerfield will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson from 5:30 PM until 8:30 PM, with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 6:30 PM.

Fred was born in Guanaja, Honduras on February 18, 1938 and passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Franklin Foundation Hospital. A devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Fred learned at an early age the meaning of hard work. He provided in his younger years in helping his mother support the family and carried that dedication throughout his entire life, providing a stable and loving home life for his wife and children. He instilled his work ethics, qualities, and loyalty to his entire family and displayed his loving nature in helping any he could. Fred was a man’s man who was tough as nails but had a heart of gold and a servant’s heart. He could be counted on by any and all. He retired from the workforce following 35 years of service and enjoyed his time spent with family, friends, and his beloved dog Firulais. He will be remembered for all the above qualities as well as for his citrus fruit and his Honduran Mutton Peppers which he freely shared.

His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his daughters, Marjorie A. Parchmont and Elsa C. Parchmont; his grandson, José Allan Brambila and his wife Jennifer; his great granddaughter, Madeleine Willow Brambila whom he adored; as well as numerous siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 50 years, Elsa Yolanda Zapata Parchmont; his father, Olyn Parchmont; his mother, Shirley Tatum Ebanks; his brothers, Nathaniel Parchmont, Mitchell Tatum, and Carlos Parchmont; and a host of very dear friends.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Fred’s doctors, Dr. Natalie Dishman, Dr. Roland Degeyter, as well as to the many nurses, aides, respiratory therapists, and caregivers during his time of need.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Mr. Fred’s name to a charity of your choice.
