Florence Lavine, 85, a native of Youngsville, LA and resident of Morgan City, LA transitioned peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2023 at Ochsner St. Mary Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at the St. Mary Aarp Chapter 4435 Center 4014 Chennault Street Morgan City, LA. Rev. Ron Bias, Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.
Florence is survived by her two sons, Christopher (Sheila) Celestine and Glen Francis Lavine of Morgan City, LA; two daughters, Lechia Marie Ruffin and Florita Celestine Webb, both Morgan City, LA; and one sister, Clara Kossie of Houston, TX; two goddaughters, Loretta Charles Landry and Lettia Griffin Butler; six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, along with a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Lavine; three sisters, Margie Wilson, Mildred Charles, Beatrice McZeal; and two brothers, Norris Celestine, Jr. and Preston Celestine, Sr.
