Convicted Felon Arrested on Gun Charges in Bertrandville

BERTRANDVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon announced the arrest of 22-year-old James Robert Harris, residing at 150 Pecan Street in Bertrandville, LA, following felony firearms charges resulting from an alleged illegal firearm discharge near a Pecan Street residence.

Deputies were sent to the scene and came across several individuals gathered around multiple vehicles upon their arrival.

With the help of a K-9 unit, the deputies discovered a firearm hidden beneath one of the vehicles. The large caliber handgun was promptly confiscated.

After concluding their investigation, James Robert Harris, who has a prior felony conviction, was arrested and taken into custody at the Assumption Parish Detention Center. The charges against him include possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Harris has been granted release on a $35,000 commercial bond.
