On Tuesday afternoon at approximately 5:00 pm, Acadian Ambulance, Morgan City Fire Department and the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the Highway 182/Atchafalaya River bridge in reference to a construction worker who was injured in an accident on the bridge, which is currently being painted and receiving upgrades. The victim was being transported to an area hospital for their injuries. No other details are available at this time, including what cause the accident. We will update the story as more information becomes available.
