Berwick Arrest Report 3-28-2022

Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reporting the following arrests:

Rodrick Hunter B/M 30 Wren St. Morgan City was arrested on March 23, 2022 at 09:19 AM for

  • WARRANT- MONETARY INSTRUMENT ABUSE
  • WARRANT- 16TH JDC FAILURE TO APPEAR
  • POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE II CDS METHAMPHETAMINE
  • POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I CDS MARIJUANA
  • OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE

On March 23, 2022 at approximately 09:19 AM Hunter was located at a local business and it was learned that he had active warrants. Hunter was placed under arrest without incident. During this time, Hunter was found to be in possession of Marijuana and Methamphetamine that he tried to discard upon arrest. Hunter was transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the charges of Possession of Schedule I CDS Marijuana, Possession of Schedule II CDS Methamphetamine, Obstruction of Justice, Warrant for Monetary Instrument Abuse, and a warrant for Failure to Appear. Hunter remains incarcerated with a bond set at $10,000.00

Cameron Jackson W/M 22 Sun Rd. Morgan City was arrested on March 23, 2022 at 4:03 PM for

  • RECKLESS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE

On March 23, 2022 at approximately 3:49 PM the Berwick Police Department received a complaint of a reckless driver. Officers obtained a description of the vehicle and located it on Hwy. 90. Officers observed the vehicle to continue traveling in a reckless manner as it was passing vehicles, and traveling at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and officers made contact with Jackson. Jackson was placed under arrest for the charge of Reckless Operation and released on a summons to appear in court.

Kenneth Fontenot W/M 48 Majestic Dr. Rayne was arrested on March 23, 2022 at 11:59 PM for

  • POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I CDS MARIJUANA (UNDER 14 GRAMS)

On March 23, 2022 at approximately 11:54 PM a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle on US Hwy. 90 for a speeding violation. During the course of the stop, Fontenot was identified as a passenger inside the vehicle and admitted to having Marijuana. Fontenot was placed under arrest for the charge of Possession of Schedule I CDS Marijuana (Under 14 Grams) and was released on a summons to appear in court.

John Maldonado-Castro H/M 20 Francis St. Berwick was arrested on March 25, 2022 at 01:53 AM for

  • SPEEDING 72/45MPH
  • NO DRIVER’S LICENSE

On March 25, 2022 at approximately 01:45 AM a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for speeding 72 in a 45 MPH zone. Officers made contact with Maldonado-Castro and learned that he did not have a valid driver’s license. Maldonado-Castro was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the charges of Speeding 72/45 and No Driver’s License. Maldonado-Castro posted a $577.00 cash bond.

Trey Olwell W/M 24 Pharr St. Berwick was arrested on March 25, 2022 at 2:07 PM for

WARRANT- POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I CDS PSILOCYBIN MUSHROOM

WARRANT- VIOLATION OF CDS LAW DRUG FREE ZONE

On March 25, 2022 at 2:07 PM Officers made contact with Olwell who had active warrants through the Berwick Police Department. Olwell was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the warrants for Possession of Schedule I CDS Psilocybin Mushrooms and Violation of CDS Law Drug Free Zone. Olwell later posted a $5,500.00 bond.

Leroy Bailey W/M 36 Francis St. Berwick was arrested on March 25, 2022 at 7:32 PM for

  • WARRANT- 16TH JDC FOR FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR DOMESTIC ABUSE BATTERY

On March 25, 2022 at approximately 7:00 PM the Berwick Police Department responded to a residence on Francis Street for a disturbance involving Bailey. Officers responded and learned that Bailey had an active warrant through the 16th JDC. During the course of the investigation, Bailey was found hiding under a shed at the residence. Bailey was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on 16th JDC warrant for Failure to Appear for the charge of Domestic Abuse Battery. Bailey remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.

Tate Allemand W/M 37 Edith St. Houma was arrested on March 25, 2022 at 11:11 PM for

  • POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I CDS MARIJUANA
  • POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I CDS THC (EDIBLES)
  • POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE II CDS METHAMPHETAMINE
  • POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
  • TWO TAIL LIGHTS REQUIRED
  • DRIVING UNDER SUSPENSION

Rachel Lebourgeois W/F 33 Hessmar Ave. Metarie was arrested on March 25, 2022 at 11:11 PM for

POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I CDS MARIJUANA

POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I CDS THC (EDIBLES)

POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE II CDS METHAMPHETAMINE

POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA

On March 25, 2022 at approximately 10:17 PM an officer in the area of US Hwy. 90 observed a vehicle with one working taillight. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and officers made contact with Allemand and Lebourgeois. During the course of the stop, an odor of Marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was done at which time Marijuana, THC Edibles, Methamphetamine, and various items of drug paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle. Allemand and Lebourgeois admitted that the Marijuana, THC, and paraphernalia belonged to them however denied any knowledge of the Methamphetamine. A computer check showed that Allemand’s driver’s license was suspended. Allemand and Lebourgeois were placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department. Allemand was booked on the charges of Possession of Schedule I CDS Marijuana, Possession of Schedule I CDS THC (Edibles), Possession of Schedule II CDS Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving Under Suspension, and Two Taillights Required. Lebourgeois was booked on the charges of Possession of Schedule I CDS Marijuana, Possession of Schedule I CDS THC (Edibles), Possession of Schedule II CDS Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both Allemand and Lebourgeois remain incarcerated pending a bond hearing.

Kentwine Birdlow B/M 31 Trinity Dr. Thibodaux was arrested on March 27, 2022 at 02:32 AM for

  • DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED FIRST OFFENSE
  • RED LIGHT VIOLATION

On March 27, 2022 at approximately 02:04 AM a vehicle was observed disregarding a red light in the area of LA Hwy. 182. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and officers made contact with the driver who was identified as Birdlow. While speaking with Birdlow, he showed obvious signs of impairment. Birdlow was asked to perform a series of standardized field sobriety tests, which he agreed to do so and performed poorly on. Birdlow was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he submitted a valid breath sample of 0.202G% BAC. Birdlow was booked on the charges of Driving While Intoxicated First Offense and Red Light Violation. Birdlow remains incarcerated with a bond set at $2,750.00

Brandon Harrell B/M 37 Mariah St. Houston Tx was arrested on March 27, 2022 at 2:33 PM for

  • FOLLOWING TOO CLOSE
  • POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I CDS MARIJUANA UNDER 14 GRAMS

On Sunday, March 27, 2022, at approximately 2:23PM , Officers with the Berwick Police Department observed a vehicle following another vehicle too closely on the Highway. Officer conducted a traffic stop and spoke with Harrell. During the investigation, Officers smelled marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Officers located marijuana on Harrell’s person. Harrell was placed under arrest for following too close and possession of marijuana under 14 grams. Harrell was released on a summons to appear in court of June 15, 2022.
