Berwick Arrest Report 3-27-2024

Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reports the following arrest:

Bradley Kinkle 30 of Berwick was arrested on March 25, 2024 at 11:12 P.M. for

  • BERWICK WARRANT – ATTEMPTED SIMPLE BURGLARY

On Monday March 25, 2024 at approximately 01:30 A.M., Officers with the Berwick Police Department observed Kinkle at the intersection of Front St. and Pacific St. Having prior knowledge of an active warrant for his arrest, officers made contact with Kinkle and placed him under arrest. He was transported to Berwick jail where he was processed on the warrant where he remains incarcerated. The warrant stems from an incident in which Kinkle was observed attempting to gain access to a vehicle in the Berwick area on Sunday March 24, 2024 in the area of Oregon St.

Merlin Paul Boudreaux III 46 of Morgan City was arrested on March 26, 2024 at 11:55 A.M. for

  • PROHIBITED ACTS SCHEDULE II METHAMPHETAMINE
  • PROHIBITED ACTS – DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
  • MODIFICATION OF EXHAUST SYSTEMS
  • TAIL LAMPS REQUIRED
  • DRIVING ON ROADWAY LANED FOR TRAFFIC
  • RESISTING AN OFFICER

On March 26, 2024 at approximately 11:41 P.M. officers with the Berwick Police Department observed a vehicle commit several traffic violations while traveling on U.S. Highway 90 west bound in the Berwick area. During the course of the traffic stop, officers identified the driver as Merlin Boudreaux III. Officers observed Boudreaux to act very suspicious and officers attempted a pat down due to officers observing a suspicious item on his person. Boudreaux began resisting officers at which time additional officers were summoned to the scene. Officers were able to retrieve the item which was learned to be a small container that contained Methamphetamine. Boudreaux was placed under arrest and later transported to the Berwick jail where he was processed on the charges. He remains incarcerated at this time.
