Bayou Bend Health System is proud to announce the expansion of its services with the opening of a new Bariatric Center in Franklin, Louisiana. The Bayou Bend Bariatric Center will offer a comprehensive range of weight loss solutions, including sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, lap band adjustments, weight loss injections, natural hormone therapy, and thoracic procedures.
The center will be led by Dr. Johnny Perez, a renowned general and bariatric surgeon with over 20 years of experience. Dr. Perez has completed extensive education and training at prestigious institutions such as the University of California Santa Barbara, the University of California School of Medicine, MD Anderson Cancer Center – UTHealth Houston Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and the University of Texas Houston Medical School. His expertise spans multiple surgical specialties, including bariatrics, laparoscopy, oncology, colorectal surgery, gastroenterology, and endocrinology.
Dr. Perez has achieved several notable milestones in his career, including founding the LapBand program in Thibodaux, LA, and performing the first single-incision laparoscopic gallbladder surgery in the Tri-Parish area. His addition to the Bayou Bend Health System team is expected to be a significant asset to the hospital and the Franklin community.
