Baton Rouge Man Wanted for 2 Counts of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder in Connection with Baldwin Shooting

Chief Anthony Gibson with the Baldwin Police Department announces that a warrant has been issued for Kelvin Markeith Porter Jr. of Baton Rouge in connection with a Tuesday night shooting that left two victims injured.

At approximately 8:42pm, Baldwin Police Department was dispatched for shots fired in the area of Main and Lockley Streets.  Upon officers’ arrival, two male subjects were found with gunshot wounds.  Both subjects were transported by Acadian Air Med to medical facilities.

Porter is wanted for two Counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder and one Count of Illegal Discharging of a Firearm.

Porter should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information to his whereabouts is asked to contact Baldwin Police Department at 337-923-4845 or any local police agency.
