The Assumption Parish Police Jury has announced important dates for the upcoming Party Primary Election on May 16, 2026, which will include races for U.S. Senate, U.S. Representative, Louisiana Supreme Court Justice, Board of Elementary and Secondary Education Member, and Public Service Commission Member, as well as municipal primary elections.
Residents wishing to register to vote can do so in person, by mail, or at an Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) location until April 15. For those who prefer to register online, the deadline through the GeauxVote Online Registration System is April 25.
Early voting will take place from May 2 to May 9, excluding Sunday, May 3, and will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Voters who wish to request an absentee ballot must do so by May 12 at 4:30 p.m. (excluding military and overseas voters). Absentee ballots must be received by the registrar of voters by May 15 at 4:30 p.m.
On election day, polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Early voting will be conducted at the Registrar of Voters office located at 4809 Highway 1, Napoleonville, LA 70390. For more information, residents can call 985-369-7347. Sample ballots can be viewed at www.geauxvote.com.
