BALDWIN, La. – The Baldwin Volunteer Fire Department is reminding residents of the importance of properly displaying their home address numbers to ensure emergency responders can quickly and accurately locate properties during critical situations.

Fire Chief R. Cook emphasized that all residences should have address numbers that are clearly visible from the roadway. The department requires numerals to be at least four inches in height and placed in a location that can be easily seen, especially at night or in poor weather conditions.

Clearly marked homes can make a crucial difference when firefighters, law enforcement, or medical personnel are responding to emergencies where every second counts.

Residents are encouraged to check their property and ensure their address numbers are:
At least 4 inches tall
Contrasting in color from the background
Visible from the street
Unobstructed by landscaping or decorations

The Baldwin Volunteer Fire Department appreciates the community’s cooperation in helping keep response times as quick and efficient as possible.
