MORGAN CITY, La. — A Morgan City man has been arrested following a narcotics investigation conducted by the Morgan City Police Department.
Elliot D. Broussard, 62, of Second Street in Morgan City, was arrested on January 14, 2026, at approximately 2:52 p.m.
Broussard was charged with the following offenses:
Possession With Intent to Distribute Cocaine
Possession With Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine
Possession With Intent to Distribute Fentanyl
Possession With Intent to Distribute Marijuana
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Transactions Involving Drug Proceeds
Violation of the Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances Law
Hold for Probation and Parole
The investigation stemmed from multiple complaints alleging Broussard was selling illegal narcotics in the Morgan City area. Upon completion of the investigation, detectives obtained and executed a narcotics search warrant at Broussard’s residence.
The warrant was executed within approximately 2,000 feet of a local church, a designated drug-free zone. During the search, officers seized the following items:
346 grams of methamphetamine
169 grams of marijuana
20 grams of crack cocaine
1 gram of fentanyl
Digital scales
Drug packaging materials
The Morgan City Police Department stated that narcotics investigations remain a top priority due to the impact illegal drugs have on the community, including increases in theft, violent crime, and overdose-related incidents.
Chad M. Adams, along with the Morgan City Police Department, reaffirmed their commitment to targeting narcotics distribution and removing dangerous drugs from the streets to ensure a safer community.
