NAPOLEONVILLE — Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Kenny Lacy, 47, and Shavonne Marie Lacy, 58, both of 186 Highway 401 in Napoleonville, on felony aggravated cruelty to animals charges following an investigation on January 7, 2026.
Deputies responded to a complaint regarding a malnourished dog at the residence on Louisiana Highway 401. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a dog hanging partially off a porch by a mechanism tied to its body. The dog appeared to be near death and was struggling to breathe. A deputy was able to place the dog back onto the porch and observed that the animal was in a severe state of malnourishment.
Assumption Parish Police Jury Animal Control personnel were called to the scene and removed the dog from what authorities described as deplorable living conditions.
As a result of the investigation, deputies identified Kenny Lacy and Shavonne Marie Lacy as the owners of the dog and obtained arrest warrants for both individuals.
On January 12, 2026, Kenny and Shavonne Lacy were arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals.
Both remain incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
