Franklin– On June 13, 2025, just before 10:00 a.m., Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop I began investigating a two-vehicle serious injury crash on U.S. Highway 90 near its intersection with Louisiana Highway 182. The crash ultimately claimed the life of 86-year-old Norma Clements of Centerville.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2013 Nissan Rogue, driven by Clements, was stopped facing south on LA Hwy 182 due to a stop sign at the intersection with U.S. Hwy 90. At the same time, a 2022 Ford F600 Super Duty pulling a trailer was traveling west on U.S. Hwy 90. For reasons still under investigation, the Nissan attempted to continue south on LA Hwy 182 by crossing U.S. Hwy 90, but entered the path of the approaching Ford. Despite the driver of the Ford taking evasive action to avoid a collision, the truck struck the left side of the Nissan.

Clements was properly restrained, sustained severe injuries, and was transported to a local hospital where she later died. The driver of the Ford was uninjured.

The driver of the Ford was not suspected of being impaired and voluntarily provided a breath sample which showed no alcohol detected. A standard toxicology sample was collected from Clements and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
