Baldwin Police Department Charges New Iberia Man with Juvenile Sex Crimes

Baldwin Police Chief Anthony Gibson has announced the arrest of Malcolm Barnes III, who has been charged with one count of Indecent Behavior with Juvenile and one count of Computer-Aided Solicitation of a Minor.

Barnes’ arrest stems from an investigation that started back on June 30, 2024. He was taken into custody without incident by the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Department and transported to Baldwin Police Department for processing. He was then transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. The investigation is ongoing.

Gibson thanked his staff, along with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office, Franklin 3rd Ward City Marshal’s Office, St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Chitimacha Police Department for their assistance.
