Centerville Man Arrested in Shooting Investigation

On Sunday, January 7, 2024, at approximately 1:07 pm, deputies responded to a residence in Centerville on a welfare concern call. Upon arrival, they found a man wounded by gunfire in a camper at the residence.

Acadian Ambulance was called to the scene and the wounded man was transported to a hospital in critical condition and subsequently flown by Air Med to an out-of-town medical facility.

Detectives were called to the scene and opened an investigation into the incident. Through the investigation, Rodriguez was identified as a person of interest in the case.

Evidence was obtained and Rodriguez was arrested, charged with attempted 2nd-degree murder, and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.
