Brenda Rideau, 72, a native of Morgan City, LA and a resident of Houston, TX, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 10:00 AM in Houston, TX.
Visitation will be Friday, March 24, 2023 at Jones Funeral Home, 715 Sixth St., Morgan City, LA., from 9:00 AM until funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the Morgan City Cemetery.
Brenda A. Rideau a caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was surrounded by family when she passed on March 17, 2023, at the age of 72 . Born to Fred II and Addie Rita Alexander on April 16, 1950. Brenda spent many years working with the Morgan City Police Department as a Communications Officer, and then as a records clerk before retirement. Brenda served her career at the Morgan City PD with pride, integrity, and was known for a reputation for firmness.
Brenda is now rejoicing with her Father Fred, Mother Addie, and Brother Fred in heaven.
She is survived by her children Tammy Lynn Mier of Lafayette, LA Reginald Rideau Jr. of Patterson, LA and Nikki (Elton) Henry Alexander of Houston, TX. Brothers Sherney (Matildia) Alexander of Dallas, TX and Maurice Alexander of Fort Washington, DC and Michael Alexander of Morgan City, LA
After raising three children, and a grandson, Joseph Breaux, Brenda leaves this world a beloved mother and role model to those she encountered. Known for her heart of gold and willingness to help any who needed it, she embodied her faith and love in her everyday life. Brenda liked to spend her time with family, cooking, and listening to music, her favorite song was Tennessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton.
