The royalty for the 88th Louisiana Shrimp & Petroleum Festival have been announced. King Joseph E. Carinhas Jr. and Queen Gweneth Dohmann were crowned during Saturday night’s coronation and ball at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium.
Carinhas’s father was King 50 years ago and his grandfather 70 years ago. Dohmann is the daughter of Joey & Sharon Dohmann of Berwick.
The newly crowned royalty will reign over the upcoming festival which runs from Thursday, August 31 – Labor Day, September 4.
