St. Mary Parish Sheriff Gary Driskell advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 41 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Shawn Paul Boudreaux, 45, Centerville, LA, was arrested on May 1, 2024, at 8:05 am for introduction of contraband-penal institution. Bail has not been set at this time.
Royce Anthony Benoit Jr., 42, LA, was arrested on May 1, 2024, at 3:59 pm for simple arson and possession of schedule II drugs. Bail has not been set at this time.
Tobbie Ray Lacoste, 40, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on May 1, 2024, at 10:17 am for battery-simple and criminal damage to property-simple. Lacoste was released on a $15,500 bond.
NARCOTICS SECTION
Varice Richardson, 30, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on May 1, 2024, at 10:35 am on the following charges:
- Possession of schedule 1 with intent to distribute (marijuana)
- Possession of schedule II with intent to distribute (methamphetamine)
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Resisting arrest or officer
- Battery-simple
Richardson also held an active warrant for the following charges:
- Possession of heroin with intent to distribute
- Possession of synthetic cannabinoids
- Possession of schedule I drugs (marijuana)
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
