Woman Arrested After Striking Victim With Automobile

PIERRE PART – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Courtney Reeann Barber, 28, of 58325 Robertson Street, Plaquemine, LA, on felony charges arising out of a disturbance on Saturday afternoon at a residence in the 2000 block of LA 70 South.

Deputies were dispatched to the aforementioned area in reference to someone having been struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, deputies made contact with a female who had sustained minor injuries. Deputies determined that Courtney Reeann Barber and a male subject at the LA 70 address had gotten into a dispute. At some point, the victim attempted to intervene in order to stabilize the situation.

Courtney Reeann Barber was the driver of the suspect vehicle and at some point, during the incident Barber struck the female victim with her automobile. Courtney Reeann Barber left the scene but was apprehended a short time later in Iberville Parish.

Courtney Reeann Barber was transported to Assumption Parish and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on a charge of:

​*Aggravated Battery with a Dangerous Weapon

Courtney Reeann Barber was incarcerated and released on a $20,000 bond.
