KQKI News spoke with the city’s mosquito control provider, Cajun Mosquito Control LLC. and Patterson Mayor Rodney Grogan and has confirmed that the case is not in a human, but was detected through testing tools, including a pool of mosquitos.

The City of Patterson said in response to the case, mosquito spraying efforts will be increased to help reduce the mosquito population and minimize risk to residents.  Cajun Mosquito will also be distributing informational pamphlets to raise awareness and provide guidance on safety and prevention measures.
