Two Motorcyclists Killed in New Orleans on Sunday Identified

According to the New Orleans Police Department, two motorcyclists were killed  and two others were hospitalized after a crash in New Orleans East this past Sunday morning shortly after midnight.

The crash happened on Almonaster Avenue between Jourdan Road and Elaine Street.

According to the NOPD, 22 year old Joshua Stevens was speeding on Almonaster when he plowed into motorcyclists who were stopped in the road. The two that were killed have been identified as 39 year old Jeffrey Watts and 30 year old Summer Gaudet. Both died at the scene. The two surviving bikers remained in a local trauma unit as of Monday.

Police arrested Stevens at the site of the crash. He is facing vehicular homicide and vehicular negligent injuring charges. Bond was set at $150,000.
