Two From Pierre Part Arrested After Traffic Stop On Multiple Drug Charges

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Ronald Joseph Armond, Sr., 49, and Alicia Ann Gilmer, 27, both of 127 Comeaux Street, Pierre Part, LA in connection to a traffic stop in Paincourtville on Monday night.

A uniformed patrol officer noticed a vehicle with an equipment violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The officer made contact with the driver, now identified as Ronald Joseph Armond, Sr. and proceeded to interview him. Other officers on patrol arrived at the scene and proceeded to interview the passenger, now identified as Alicia Ann Gilmer.

During the interview process, officers detected an odor of suspected marijuana emitting from the vehicle and were granted consent to search the vehicle. A quantity of marijuana and suspected methamphetamine was seized from the vehicle.

During the booking process, two bags of suspected methamphetamine was located on Alicia Ann Gilmer’s person.

Ronald Joseph Armond, Sr. and Alicia Ann Gilmer were arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

As to Ronald Joseph Armond, Sr.:

  • Illegal Use of Controlled Drugs in Presence of Persons under 17 Years Old (3 Counts)
  • Possession or Distribution of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Possession of Marijuana – 1st Offense
  • Possession of Methamphetamine (Felony)Armond remains incarcerated with bond set at $20,000.

    As to Alicia Ann Gilmer:

  • Taking Contraband to/from Penal Institutions Prohibited (Felony)
  • Illegal Use of Controlled Drugs in Presence of Persons under 17 Years Old (3 Counts)
  • Possession or Distribution of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Possession of Marijuana – 1st Offense
  • Possession of Methamphetamine (Felony)

Gilmer remains incarcerated with bond set at $65,000.
