Two Arrested for Burglary in Belle River Area

PIERRE PART – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon has announced the arrest of Jude Metrejean, 36, and Amy Marie Duplessis, 46, in connection with a burglary case in the Belle River area. The investigation began on September 11, 2023.

Deputies were called to a camp burglary on Belle River Road and, through their investigation, determined that the crime occurred between July 27 and August 23, 2023. Metrejean and Duplessis were identified as two of the individuals involved.

It was discovered that the suspects entered the camp via a rear upstairs door, causing damages assessed at $1,245 and stealing items worth $1,500.

On September 16, 2023, arrest warrants were issued for Metrejean and Duplessis. Metrejean was arrested on Saturday and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center for simple burglary charges. He remains incarcerated awaiting a bond hearing. Meanwhile, Duplessis was arrested Sunday and similarly charged with simple burglary.
