St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Arrest Report 07/30/25

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Gary Driskell advises that over the last 48-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 93 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Jayden Jamell Smith, 19, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on July 29, 2025, at 3:28 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of marijuana, violation of uniform CDS law (drug-free zone), and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Kimberly Marie Jones, 34, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on July 29, 2025, at 11:02 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the following charges:

  • Possession of synthetic cannabinoids with intent to distribute
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Resisting an officer
  • Operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled

Bail was set at $35,000.

 

Carlton Ben Cosey, 43, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on July 29, 2025, at 11:15 pm on three Morgan City Police Department warrants. Bail was set at $723.

Joseph Butler James, 44, Franklin, LA, was arrested on July 28, 2025, at 2:32 pm on
the following charges:

  • Possession of methamphetamines
  • Expired or no inspection sticker
  • Failure/owner secure registration
  • Proper equipment required
  • Driving under suspension
  • Introduction of contraband-penal institution

Bail was set at $50,000.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

Dale Pearce, 64, Franklin, LA, was arrested on July 28, 2025, at 5:50 pm for failure to signal, stop signs and yield signs, and possession of schedule II (crack cocaine). Bail has not been set at this time.

Nicholas Gamble, 45, Berwick, LA, was arrested on July 29, 2025, at 3:00 pm on the following charges:

  • Possession of schedule I (meth)
  • Obstruction of justice
  • Riding on the opposing lane
  • Resisting an officer

Bail has not been set at this time.
