St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 36 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Myles Anthony Morgan, 34, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on August 18, 2022, at 10:04 am on a warrant for failuret to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. Bail was set at $8,882.
Jason Ray Benedix, 42, Davenport, IA, was arrested on August 18, 2022, at 7:05 pm for illegal carrying of a weapon. Bail was set at $1,000.
Mariano Coccoc, 34, Amelia, LA, was arrested on August 18, 2022, at 11:32 pm for reckless operation-no accident and resisting arrest or officer. Bail was set at $3,000.
NARCOTICS SECTION
Terrance McClain, 40, Franklin, LA, was arrested on August 18, 2022, at 9:47 on the following charges:
- Possession of schedule I (marijuana)
- Aggravated flight from an officer
- Resisting an officer
- Negligent injuring (2 counts)
- Driving under suspension
- Two warrants for failure to appear on the charge of illegal possession of stolen things
Bail was set at $135,500.
All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
