St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 31 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Tyren Authement, 21, Houma, LA, was arrested on July 18, 2023, at 11:58 pm on the following charges:
- Illegal possession of stolen firearm
- Possession of heroin with intent to distribute
- Possession of firearm-felon
- Transactions involving drug proceeds
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of firearm in the presence of CDS
Authement held a Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant for possession of firearm-felon and attempted second degree murder.
On Tuesday, July 18, 2023, Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives were assisting the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office on a case and were actively searching for Authement. They contacted detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office with information that Authement was traveling towards St. Mary Parish and provided a vehicle description.
A short time later, a patrol deputy observed a vehicle matching the description and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with a passenger and the driver, who was identified as Authement.
