St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 34 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Albert Joseph Stevens II, 48, Berwick, LA, was arrested on June 21, 2022, at 1:45 pm on a Berwick Police Department warrant for crime against nature-aggravated. Stevens was transferred to another agency.
Wanya Malik Francis, 27, Patterson, LA, was arrested on June 22, 2022, at 3:04 am for no headlights, brake light required, and resisting an officer by flight. Francis was released on a $2,000 bond.
All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
