St. Mary Arrest Report 3-2-2021

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 37 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Nicholas Michael Judd, 27, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on March 1, 2021, at 9:06 am for domestic abuse battery. Bail was set at $2,500.

Thomas Anthony Tabor, 59, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on March 1, 2021, at 12:56 pm for criminal damage to property-simple, resisting arrest or officer, and on four warrants for failure to appear on the following charges:

  • Distribution of marijuana
  • Possession/distribution/sale of legend drug without prescription
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Resisting an officer (2 counts)
  • Domestic abuse battery
  • Disturbing the peace-offensive words
  • Obscenity
  • Resisting a police officer with force or violence
  • Attempted disarming of a peace officer
  • Battery of a police officer while in custody

No bail has been set.

Jeremiah Soto, 18, Patterson, LA, was arrested on March 1, 2021, at 4:04 pm on parish ordinance 13-17 diving from a parish bridge.  Soto was released on a summons to appear on June 28, 2021.

Gavin Taylor Sauce, 22, Patterson, LA, was arrested on March 1, 2021, at 4:04 pm on parish ordinance 13-17 diving from a parish bridge.  Sauce was released on a summons to appear on June 28, 2021.

Alita Marie Tabb, 21, Baldwin, LA, was arrested on March 1, 2021, at 6:09 pm on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of attempted possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and  possession of schedule II (methamphetamine). No bail has been set.

John Franklin Vandercook, 49, Amelia, LA, was arrested on March 1, 2021, at 7:05 pm on two warrants for the following charges:

  • Domestic abuse battery
  • Unauthorized entry of inhabited dwelling
  • Molestation of a juvenile
  • Rape 3rd degree
  • Sexual battery

On Monday, March 1, 2021, detectives with the SMPSO Investigations Division were made aware of a possible incident of molestation of a juvenile.  Detectives began an investigation into the incident and quickly developed Vandercook as the suspect.

Sometime later, SMPSO Communications Division received information on the location of Vandercook.  Deputies were dispatched to the location and found Vandercook in a shed on the rear of the property.  Vandercook was arrested and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.

No bail has been set.
