Cody attended Ackerman High School, in Ackerman, MS.; however, he graduated Berwick High School in Berwick, LA. in May 2015.

He enlisted into the US Army January 2017.

Cody was an Aviation Pneudraulics Mechanic at Fort Bragg, NC, and then he reclassed to Field Artillery at Fort Riley, KS.

Cody was blessed with a large blended family. He was born February 6, 1995 to Shelia Dozar Kimbro (Michael Copeland) and Brian Joseph Sons (Jennifer Dempsey). Cody is also survived by his stepfather, Robert W. Kimbro; his brothers, Gavin (Ashley) Dozar, Robert E. Kimbro and Gabriel Kimbro; his sisters, Kayla Mason, Angel Mason, Laryssa Kimbro (Jacob) and Hayden-Lee Sons; his step siblings, Brady Dempsey and Tawny Gunter; his nephew, Ash Pelas; his grandparents, Richard (Paulette) Lightsey and Terry Sons; and several aunts, uncles, numerous cousins, adopted family, and his Military Brothers/Sisters. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Scooga.

Cody is proceeded in death by his grandmother, Sandra Barrilleaux; and uncle, Richard Lightsey Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Hargave Funeral Home in Morgan City, LA, on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with Military Honors.

Following the Celebration of Life we will proceed to VFW hall 4222 on Sandra St., in Morgan City.
