On August 11, 2021, investigators with the Morgan City Police Department responded to the area of Brashear Ave. regarding a potential overdose.

According to reports, officers arrived and located 37-year-old, Harold Allen Sheets,  unresponsive. Sheets was declared deceased on the scene.

The investigation was turned over to the Morgan City Police Department Detective’s Division. Reports indicated that Sheets died of an apparent overdose.

Over the past couple of days information was developed and corroborated that 42-year-old Christen Brown of Bell Rose, LA was identified as allegedly administering the toxic drug to Sheets that led to his death. This information was developed with the assistance of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Warrants were prepared for Brown’s arrest for Second Degree Murder. Brown was located at the Morgan City Jail on charges not related to this investigation. She was booked earlier this week on the charges of Failure to Seek Assistance in a separate overdose incident. Brown was booked and processed awaiting court proceedings. Bail was set on the new charges at $250,000.

Anyone with information on any overdose investigation is urged to contact the Morgan City Police Department Detectives Division 985-380-4605.
