The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that the Charenton Bridge, located on Highway 182 (Main Street) between Yokley Road and Newman Street in Baldwin, will undergo a temporary closure. This interruption is scheduled for Monday, March 4th, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., contingent on favorable weather conditions.
The closure is essential for routine bridge inspections. During this time, emergency response vehicles will not be granted passage through the designated stretch.
Motorists will be rerouted via Highway 83, U.S. Route 90, and LA 3211 to bypass the closed section.
Important Traffic Advisory:
Motorists are advised that the on-ramp from LA 83 to eastbound Hwy 90 is currently unavailable due to ongoing construction work. Those requiring access across the Charenton Canal must use the Hwy 318 (Four Corners) interchange for entry onto eastbound U.S. Route 90, as the eastbound on-ramp at Hwy 83 remains shut off from traffic.
