RV Total Loss in Centerville Fire

An RV is a total loss as a result of a Friday afternoon fire. Centerville and Franklin Fire Departments were dispatched to an RV on fire in the 1100 block of Highway 317 at 1:20 pm. The first unit on scene reported the RV was fully engulfed in flames. Fire suppression efforts began and the fire was brought under control in 10 minutes.

The cause of the fire was determined to be a faulty appliance. The RV was unoccupied at the time and no injuries were reported. It was deemed a total loss. The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office and Acadian Ambulance remained on standby.

Centerville Fire Chief Randy Hanagriff would like to remind the public be cautious and asks that you not leave electrical equipment unattended.
