Roulden J. Guillotte, a longtime resident of Franklin, passed away at the age of 90 on Monday, October 20, 2025, at his home with his devoted wife by his side.
Roulden was born on June 15, 1935 in Jeanerette, the youngest of three children born to Gaston and Theresa Guillotte. He was a veteran of the Louisiana National Guard having served faithfully for eight years. He continued to serve his community in Law Enforcement and was a former Police Chief of the Franklin Police Department. Following his retirement from Franklin Police Department, Roulden went on to work for Franklin Foundation Hospital and then the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office as Court Bailiff until fully retiring in 2001.
Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 64 1/2 years, Geraldine “Gerry” LeBlanc Guillotte; their four children, Sharon G. Thibodeaux, Kim G. Greenwood and her husband Douglas, Darren Guillotte, and Dale Guillotte and his wife Kendra; eight grandchildren, Jordan Thibodeaux and her companion Robert Ainsworth, Devon Thibodeaux, Alexis Greenwood and her husband Alonzo, Brett Guillotte and his wife Makayla, Noel G. Bonura and her husband Cameron, Allysin Guillotte, Kylie Guillotte, and Meagan Guillotte; eight great grandchildren, Landon Ainsworth, Levi Riles, Lane Riles, Estella Bonura, Geovoni Bonura, Magnolia Bonura, Autumn Webber, and Marley Riggio; and his brother-in-law, J. Frank LeBlanc.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gaston Guillotte and Theresa Louviere Guillotte; his son-in-law, Michael Thibodeaux; his brother and sister-in-law, Alvin and Marguerite Guillotte; his sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Alex Richard; and sister-in-law, Phyllis C. LeBlanc.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin during at 1:30 PM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery Mausoleum. Father Joel Faulk will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM at the church.
