Ochsner St. Mary Hospital released the following statement to KQKI News on Friday, regarding the citywide power outage that is planned for the City of Morgan City on Thursday, July 30.
Ochsner said, “Ochsner St. Mary is prepared and it will be business as usual during the upcoming power outage providing all services including emergency care if needed. The hospital strives to always be prepared for power outages and patient safety is our highest priority. We have two standby generators that are tested weekly. These generators will provide power to the emergency circuits in the hospital. These circuits include life support equipment, patient comfort equipment, lighting, and other necessities.”
City officials said in order to repair an electrical feeder line that went down in Morgan City a couple of months ago, there will be a planned power outage on Thursday, June 30, beginning at midnight. This outage will last 4 – 5 hours at the most, and will be citywide.
