Patterson Residents Arrested Following Early Morning Narcotics Raid

Patterson Police Department Chief Garret Grogan has announced the arrest of two Patterson residents following a narcotics investigation conducted during the early morning hours of February 23, 2026.
Officers with the Patterson Police Department, assisted by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics search warrant at a residence within the city limits of Patterson.
During the execution of the search warrant, officers located and seized illegal narcotics along with drug paraphernalia.
Branshekia Shantell Harris, 38, Arrested on Multiple Charges
Harris was arrested and charged with:
  • Possession of Schedule II Drugs with Intent to Distribute (Methamphetamine)
  • Possession of Schedule I Drugs with Intent to Distribute (Marijuana)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Illegal Use of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in the Presence of a Person Under 17
  • Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in a Drug-Free Zone
  • Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Institution
Authorities also confirmed Harris has two outstanding warrants through the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Richard Jones III, 44, Also Arrested
Jones was arrested and charged with:
  • Possession of a Legend Drug Without a Prescription
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Both individuals were transported to the Patterson Police Department for processing.
Bail has not been set at this time.
The investigation remains ongoing.
