New Morgan City Police Officer Follows in His Father’s Footsteps

On Wednesday night, Police Academy Cadet Khairick Hartley was inducted into the officer ranks of the Morgan City Police Department as he graduated from the 119th Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office Training Academy. Cadets with the academy went through 10 weeks of vigorous training and received their POST Certification through the State of Louisiana.

Hartley is the son of MCPD’s own Lieutenant Ricky Hartley. Lieutenant Hartley had the honor of pinning the badge onto his son as he begins his career in law enforcement.

A post on the Morgan City Police Department’s Facebook page said, “Chief James F. Blair and everyone at the Morgan City Police Department would like to congratulate Officer Khairick Hartley on his graduation of the Police Academy.
