New Iberia Man Arrested in Connection with Monday Morning Robbery

Sheriff Becket Breaux of the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office announces that on June 23, 2025, at approximately 12:45 a.m., Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call regarding a robbery at a convenience store located in the 1300 block of Evangeline Thruway.
Upon arrival, deputies learned that the suspect entered the store and threatened the cashier by implying he had a gun and then proceeded to demand all of the money in the cash register. After receiving the money, the suspect fled the area in his vehicle.
An investigation was initiated, and during the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified as Nicholas Anthony, 71, New Iberia. He was subsequently located and arrested on unrelated charges by the Iberia Sheriff’s Office on June 23, 2025.
This morning, June 27, 2025, he was transported to the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center, where he was booked on the following charge:
LA. R.S.-14:64.1 First Degree Robbery (1 count)
