WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 20, 2025) – As millions prepare to hit the highways for what AAA projects will be record Thanksgiving travel, gas prices remain relatively steady across the country. The national average for a gallon of regular gasoline inched up only a couple of cents this week to $3.10.
Even with the surge in travel expected during Thanksgiving week, overall seasonal demand stays low this time of year, helping keep pump prices in check. Gas prices throughout 2025 have remained stable thanks to consistently low crude oil prices and the absence of major storms impacting Gulf Coast refinery operations.

Louisiana Gas Prices
Drivers in Louisiana continue to enjoy prices well below the national average. As of today, the statewide average for a gallon of regular gasoline is $2.83, keeping Louisiana among the most affordable states for fuel heading into the holiday travel rush.
AAA notes that despite record road travel expected, pump prices should remain stable barring any unexpected disruptions.
