Napoleonville Man Charged with 4th DWI

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Michael Peter Butler, 41, of 135 Gold Street, Napoleonville, LA, on multiple traffic offenses arising from an investigative stop in Napoleonville late Thursday night.

A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle with an equipment violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Michael Peter Butler.

The deputy noted a strong odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from the suspect as well as his vehicle.

The deputy established probable cause to believe that Michael Peter Butler was operating a vehicle while impaired.

The deputy conducted numerous testing maneuvers and at some point, arrested Michael Peter Butler for driving while intoxicated, 4th Offense. Michael Peter Butler registered a .238 g%.

Michael Peter Butler was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*D.W.I. Fourth Offense
*Improper Supervision of a Minor by a Parent / Legal Custodian
*Tail Lamps Required
*Expired of Cancelled License Plate
*Evidence of Compulsory Motor Vehicle Liability Security Contained in Vehicle
*Operating Vehicle with Suspended License; No License Issued

Michael Peter Butler is incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
