Bicyclist Sustains Fatal Injuries in Patterson Crash

A Patterson man died Monday night while crossing Highway 90 on a bicycle. Patterson Police Chief Garrett Grogan told KQKI News that at approximately 8:00 pm on Monday night, Jimmy Dirance was riding his bicycle northbound on Veterans Blvd. and was crossing the eastbound lanes of Highway 90 when he was struck by a small SUV.

Dirance was evaluated by Acadian Ambulance and pronounced dead on the scene by the St. Mary Parish Coroner’s Office.

Patterson Volunteer Fire Department also assisted the Patterson Police Department at the scene.
