UPDATE, Monday, 3-18-24: The Morgan City Police Department has announced that Joshua Pojar has been taken into custody.
On Sunday, March 17, 2024, at approximately 11:14 pm, officers with the Morgan City Police Department responded to a residence in the area of Federal Avenue regarding a subject who had been stabbed.
The victim was located and quickly transported by Acadian Ambulance to an out of area hospital where they remain in stable but critical condition.
According to reports, Joshua Pojar, white male, 42 years of age, allegedly stabbed the victim during a verbal altercation. It was believed that Pojar had fled and barricaded himself into an adjacent structure to the residence.
With the assistance of the St. Mary Parish Inter Agency Special Response Team, the structure was breached, but Pojar was not located. The residence was also secured and currently being processed by the Morgan City Police Department Detectives Division. A warrant for Attempted Second Degree Murder was issued for Pojar’s arrest.
Pojar is described as 5’10”, 150 lbs., with brown hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing a colorful shirt and blue jean shorts.
