Patterson Police Chief Garret Grogan tells KQKI News that a Morgan City man has been charged after he reportedly left the scene of an accident late Thursday night. Grogan said that 35-year old Patrick Lamar Phillips was driving on David Drive in Patterson when he lost control of his 2016 Ford pickup truck, struck a parked vehicle, which resulted in it being pushed into a fence.

Grogan said Phillips was located a short time later at his residence in Morgan City and was charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Criminal Damage to Property. He said that Phillips did not show any signs of impairment at the time of his arrest and the investigation revealed that he was not driving at a high rate of speed at the time of the crash.
