Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the arrest of a Morgan City man in connection with a disturbance that occurred at a local hotel. Tyler James Anthony Guerin, 30, was arrested in connection with the incident.
On Friday, September 26, 2025, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division responded to a local hotel after learning that a large fight was taking place at the pool. As Deputies arrived, they immediately observed a white male who was extremely irate and bleeding from the head. The male was taken into custody and identified as Tyler James Anthony Guerin.
As Deputies continued to investigate, they learned from a victim and several witnesses that Guerin approached a small group of young females in the pool and began asking their age. Guerin allegedly made advances toward an 18-year-old female, who reported that Guerin grabbed her in a private area of her body. A short time later, relatives of the female victim and witnesses arrived on scene, where they verbally confronted Guerin. Witnesses stated that Guerin allegedly exited the pool and threw a punch at a male on scene, which led to a physical disturbance.
Deputies interviewed nearby witnesses, who appeared to substantiate the allegations made by the victim.
Guerin was arrested on charges of Sexual Battery (Felony) and Simple Assault in connection with the disturbance. He was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex and later released on a $2,000.00 cash bond set by local judges.
Due to the nature of the investigation, the identity of the victim is being withheld.
Sheriff Soignet stated, “As always, I ask for patience and peace for all involved, as we complete this unfortunate investigation. I would like to commend the efforts of the TPSO Patrol Division, who did an unbelievable job in this case. Our parish is a safer place because of the work they do.”
