The Morgan City Police Department has received multiple reports from local businesses regarding an individual posing as a Morgan City Police Department officer and calling on behalf of the Morgan City City Court.

The department has now also received a report indicating that the same requests are being sent via text message.

Chief of Police Adams of Morgan City reminds everyone that the Morgan City Police Department will never threaten legal action over missed court appearances via phone, text message, or email, nor solicit or demand payment of fines. “As always, we request that our citizens remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity”. said Adams.
