A large marsh fire is currently burning on Cote Blanche Island, south of Highway 83 and near the Port of West St. Mary. The fire was visible from as far as the Centerville area
St. Mary Parish District 11 Fire Chief Clarence Clark told KQKI News that his crews will let have to let the fire burn out on its own due to issues accessing the marsh.
