Funeral services for Margaret Lombardo Scelfo will be held Monday, October 2, 2023, at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin during an 11:00 AM Memorial Mass of Christian Burial with Father Joel Faulk as Celebrant for the Mass. Inurnment will be held privately at a later date in the Franklin Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Bo. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the church from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM.

Margaret was born on August 23, 1937 in Franklin and was the second of three children born to Joseph and Josephine Lombardo. She passed away at the age of 86 during the evening hours of Monday, September 25, 2023, at Acadia St. Landry Hospital in Church Point. One of Margaret’s proudest moments was serving in 1959 as Franklin’s Queen of Sucrose XIX. She and her husband “Bo” also loved to travel with her most recent trips being to Italy, Europe and Alaska. Her lifelong passion was collecting antique dolls which she dressed many of them in antique jewelry shoes and clothing that she handmade herself.

Those she leaves to cherish her memory include four children, Lenny Scelfo and his wife Aimee, Angela Little and her husband David, Robbie Scelfo and his wife Denise, and Susan Scelfo and her companion Ben Thomas; eight grandchildren, David Dyer and his spouse Betsy, Stephen Little and his spouse Katelyn, Kristin Miesch and her spouse Michael, Nicholas Scelfo and his spouse Calli, Ross Scelfo and Morgan Chustz; as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Anthony Charles “Bo” Scelfo; her parents, Joseph Lombardo and Josephine Navarro Lombardo; as well as by her brother, Sgt. Leonard J. Lombardo who was killed in action during World War II; and her infant sister, Shirley Ann Lombardo.
