AMELIA – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon announced the arrest of 37-year-old Trendon Demond Short from Patterson, on felony aggravated assault charges following an altercation at an Amelia store early Wednesday morning.

Officers were called to the scene after reports of a man allegedly pointing a gun at another person. Upon arrival, deputies interviewed the suspect, the reported victim, and store employees. They reviewed the store’s security footage and identified Trendon Demond Short as the suspected assailant.
