Iberia Parish – Louisiana State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred late Thursday night on LA Highway 85, east of Burleigh Road, in Iberia Parish.
According to LSP, the crash happened shortly after 11:20 p.m., resulting in one confirmed fatality. Troopers responded to the scene where they discovered that one individual had died from injuries sustained in the collision. The identity of the victim has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
LSP confirmed that one person has been arrested in connection with the incident. Officials have not yet disclosed the nature of the charges or any additional details regarding the circumstances that led to the crash.
Louisiana State Police say more information will be released later today as the investigation continues.
